Project Inquiries
Submitting a form, scheduling a call, chatting with us, or requesting a consultation does not create a binding service agreement unless confirmed through an invoice, payment, written proposal, signed agreement, or written approval from Bright Ink Publishings.
Project recommendations, estimates, and timelines shared during consultations are based on the information provided by the client and may change after full review of the manuscript, files, scope, or project requirements.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, complete, and current contact and billing details
- Submitting clean, accurate manuscripts, assets, files, and project parameters
- Reviewing drafts, designs, edits, proofs, and deliverables in a timely, constructive manner
- Providing clear feedback and formal approvals of finished iterations
- Ensuring submitted content does not violate third-party intellectual property or copyright laws
- Making service and milestone payments according to the agreed schedule
Delays in client feedback, approvals, required materials, or payments may delay project timelines.
Payments and Billing
Fees for services are determined based on the scope of work, package selected, project requirements, timeline, and agreed deliverables.
Payment terms may vary by project and will be stated in the relevant invoice, agreement, proposal, or written communication. Unless otherwise stated in writing, work may not begin until the required initial payment has been received.
Clients are responsible for paying all agreed fees, including any applicable taxes, platform fees, printing costs, advertising budgets, third-party costs, or additional services requested outside the original scope.
Refunds & Cancellations
Refund eligibility depends on the project stage, services purchased, work completed, and the terms stated in the client’s agreement or invoice.
Because many of our services involve custom creative, editorial, design, consulting, production, or marketing work, payments may be partially or fully non-refundable once work has begun, resources have been allocated, drafts have been prepared, files have been reviewed, services have been delivered, or third-party costs have been incurred.
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. If a project is cancelled, Bright Ink Publishings may deduct fees for completed work, administrative time, consultation, project management, third-party expenses, and any non-recoverable costs.
If your signed agreement, invoice, or written service terms include a separate refund policy, that policy will control.
Revisions & Approvals
Revisions may be included depending on the service package or agreement. The number of included revisions, if any, will be stated in the project scope, proposal, or written communication.
Revision requests must be reasonable and related to the original approved scope. Major changes, new creative directions, added content, restructuring, additional pages, new illustrations, redesigns, platform changes, or expanded deliverables may require additional fees.
Once a client approves a draft, design, manuscript, proof, file, or publishing setup, further changes may be treated as additional work.
Project Timelines
We make reasonable efforts to complete projects within estimated timelines. However, timelines are estimates and may be affected by:
- Client response times and feedback delays
- Scope modifications or restructuring request
- Manuscript complexity, edits, or revision rounds
- Third-party distribution platform approvals and delays
- Payment delays or force majeure events
Bright Ink Publishings is not responsible for delays caused by client inaction, incomplete materials, third-party platforms, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Manuscripts & Ownership
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, clients retain ownership of their original manuscripts, book ideas, personal stories, and creative materials submitted to Bright Ink Publishings.
For custom work created by Bright Ink Publishings, ownership rights may transfer to the client only after full payment has been received and subject to the terms of the applicable agreement.
Bright Ink Publishings may retain the right to use general project knowledge, non-confidential processes, templates, workflow methods, and internal creative techniques developed during service delivery.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that their submitted content is original or that they have obtained the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for any third-party content used in their project.
Portfolio Use
Unless restricted by a written confidentiality agreement, Bright Ink Publishings may display completed book covers, website designs, illustrations, project samples, testimonials, author names, or published works in its portfolio, website, presentations, marketing materials, or case studies.
If you do not want your project displayed, you must notify us in writing.
Confidentiality
We understand that manuscripts, book ideas, personal stories, and creative materials may be sensitive. We will take reasonable steps to keep client materials confidential and use them only for project-related purposes.
However, confidentiality does not apply to information that:
- Is already publicly available or known before disclosure
- Is independently developed without use of confidential information
- Is required to be disclosed by law or regulator
- Is shared with third-party service providers as needed to complete the project
If a separate Non-Disclosure Agreement is signed, that agreement will control confidentiality obligations.
Publishing Platforms
Bright Ink Publishings may assist with preparing, formatting, uploading, or guiding publication through third-party platforms such as Amazon KDP, Barnes & Noble Press, IngramSpark, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Books, or other distribution channels.
However, we do not control third-party platform decisions, policies, review times, account approvals, royalties, pricing structures, metadata rules, file requirements, category placement, rankings, availability, removals, or distribution limitations.
Clients are responsible for complying with each platform’s terms, rules, tax requirements, account requirements, and content guidelines.
Marketing & Advertising
Marketing and promotional services may include strategy, branding, social media support, ad campaign guidance, PR outreach, platform setup, launch planning, or related visibility efforts.
Bright Ink Publishings does not guarantee book sales, bestseller status, rankings, reviews, media placements, follower growth, ad performance, return on investment, or any specific commercial outcome unless expressly stated in writing.
Marketing results depend on many factors, including genre, book quality, audience demand, pricing, competition, author participation, ad budgets, platform algorithms, and market conditions.
No Guarantee of Success
We aim to provide professional support and high-quality services. However, we do not guarantee:
- Approval by any publishing platform or retailer acceptance
- Specific sales figures, royalty earnings, or profitability
- Bestseller rankings, media coverage, or awards recognition
- Reader reviews or long-term market visibility
Any examples, testimonials, portfolio pieces, or past results are not guarantees of future outcomes.
Third-Party Costs
Some projects may require third-party services, tools, subscriptions, advertising budgets, ISBN fees, copyright registration fees, printing costs, distribution fees, stock assets, voice talent fees, software, hosting, domain names, or platform-related expenses.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, third-party fees are separate from Bright Ink Publishings’ service fees and are the client’s responsibility.
Bright Ink Publishings is not responsible for third-party service interruptions, delays, errors, price changes, policy changes, or account issues.
Website Development
For author website or website development services, clients are responsible for providing accurate website content, images, branding materials, hosting access, domain information, platform login details, and approvals.
After delivery or launch, ongoing maintenance, updates, hosting, security, backups, plugin renewals, and technical support may require a separate agreement unless included in the original scope.
Content Standards
Clients may not submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, plagiarized, infringing, hateful, abusive, exploitative, fraudulent, or otherwise prohibited by applicable laws or third-party platform rules.
We reserve the right to refuse, pause, or cancel any project that involves inappropriate, illegal, infringing, or high-risk content.
Intellectual Property
All website content, including text, graphics, logos, designs, images, layouts, service descriptions, icons, and branding, is owned by or licensed to Bright Ink Publishings and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, or exploit our website content without written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bright Ink Publishings shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost sales, lost opportunities, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or publishing platform issues.
Our total liability for any claim related to our website or services shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for the specific service giving rise to the claim, unless otherwise required by law.

- Your use of our website or services
- Your submitted content, creative materials, or manuscripts
